To analyze your trading performance, start by calculating net P&L, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, and average winner and loser across your full trade history — not just your most recent trades.
Next, break your results down by time of day, day of week, instrument, setup type, and long versus short trades. Most traders find their overall results hide significant patterns — they may be profitable in the morning but give it all back in the afternoon, or one setup may be responsible for most of their losses.
The goal of trading analysis is not to collect metrics but to ask better questions: when am I most profitable, which setups are working, and where am I losing money I should not be losing.
