How to Do a Weekly Trading Review

To do a weekly trading review, compare your headline metrics against previous weeks, identify your best and worst trades, check trading frequency for signs of overtrading, and choose one measurable improvement to test the following week.

Start with the numbers: total P&L, number of trades, win rate, profit factor, average winner, average loser. Compare them against last week, your four-week average, and your long-term average. The headline result does not always tell the full story — you may have been profitable but with a declining average winner, or unprofitable despite better execution.

End the review with one specific, measurable rule to test next week — not 15 new rules. Something like no trades after 1 PM, or only take setups tagged A or B. Check the following week whether the change affected your results.
